Party Time!

Do you like to entertain? Why not throw a sponsored event! After you sign up for Houseparty.com (no fees required) you will be able to apply to host a variety of different parties. On average, there will be 5,000 to 10,000 hosts chosen for each party. The only hitch is that you don’t select the day. The date is pre-set and stated on each event application so that it is a nationwide party day for the specific product.
Sponsored events may be focused on a specific food item, product, movie, tv show, video game, etc. This will be stated in the event information that is available to all House Party members at any time before hosts are chosen.

How it works:
Browse through the available parties located on the site, there are 3 sections (General, 18+, and 21+). Each event listed will explain the product that the party will be focused around, the date to take place, any restrictions; a brief list of what will be available to the host/ess and guests, and an estimate of when applicants will be notified if they are or aren’t chosen. It takes roughly 2 minutes to fill out the application which usually consists of the same questions for each event. When looking at the dashboard you can view parties that are available and see the status of your application.
Yellow dot- Active Applicant
Green dot- Confirmed Host
Red dot- Incomplete Application / Not Chosen to Host

If you’re not chosen right away don’t give up hope! I have known some who have gotten chosen for the first event that they applied for. I however, waited 3 months before I was chosen to host an event. But, I can reassure you that you’ll have fun once chosen.

What if I’m chosen?
If you are one of the lucky hosts or hostesses make sure to confirm that you will host the sponsored event since spots are limited and they will run out. The Houseparty.com  website allows you to plan your party directly from the site by sending out e-mail invitations to guests, printing invitations, chatting with other hosts and guests, and so much more. This is also when you will be able to find out exactly what will be shipped for the party. On average there will be goodies for the host/ess and also a variety for roughly 10 guests. And, in some cases the sponsor will also include an item to be given away by the host AT the party! If you have more people than gifts that are sent, they will not send extras. Houseparty.com  suggests that in cases such as this that you find a fun way to give them as prizes during games, or other ways that you come up with.
Houseparty.com  and/or the sponsor will NOT reimburse you for what you spend on the party. Please do not go above and beyond what you are financially capable of just because you are chosen. Parties can be small casual events with friends or formal events; they may also occur at your home, a park, a friends/family members, etc. it is up to YOU! Sponsors are gracious enough to send a generous package so that you may display their products as the center of the party, so please keep that in mind when planning the event. But, have FUN!
Please note that in case of an emergency the party may be rescheduled. But, I would highly suggest that you only apply for parties that you feel that you will be able to complete on the date that the sponsor sets.
In rare cases you may be asked to speak with a media person regarding your party, but this is also stated in the contract. Also, they will ask that you post pictures of the party (at least a few so that they can see that you followed through) and also share how the event went afterwards.

I will be hosting my first Houseparty.com  event at the end of this month and am looking forward to it. I have experienced some issues with many if not most receiving their invitations when sent through the Houseparty.com  site; however I was easily able to send out an invite by creating an event on Facebook. Guest statuses can easily be changed by using the guest manager on the House Party website by the host if a situation like this occurs. With this being my first event, it is also a learning process, because access is gained to an area of the site that is only viewable by a host/hostess.
